Alamo - Mrs. Rachel M. Fruits, 61, Rt 3, Crawfordsville, a 40-year resident of the Alamo area, died at 3:45 p.m. Wednesday in Culver Hospital at Crawfordsville where she had been a patient six days. Mrs. Fruits, a housewife was a member of Alamo Christian Church and Ladies Aid; Alamo Order of Eastern Star, Chapter 498 and was past president of the Ripley Township Extension Club. She was a 1930 graduate of Waynetown HS and attended McMurray College in Illinois. Born April 11, 1911, in Fountain County, she was a daughter of Deward and Ada Lowe Myers. On Oct 17, 1931, she married Lewis D. Fruits who survives. Also surviving are her mother of Crawfordsville; three sons, Russell of new Richmond, James of Cleveland and Dennis of Lake Holiday; three daughters, Mrs. Dianna Hutchison of Crawfordsville; Mrs. Verda May Mills of Crawfordsville and Mrs. Dema Kay Delp of Marshall; a brother, Herman Myers of Hillsboro; two nephews and 14 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by an infant twin sister, Mary. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Servies-Thomas Funeral Home at Waynetown with Rev. Hugh Dooley officiating. Burial in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. - kbz
